Collection of Light
Two significators may not see one another, yet a common third planet to which both apply can gather the matter together.
How it works
Both significators apply to a third planet that is heavier and slower. This slower planet collects both lights and brings the parties together.
Difference from translation
In translation of light, a faster planet runs from one party to the other; in collection, a slower planet remains in place and draws both parties toward itself.
Who is the collector?
The collecting heavier planet often signifies a shared acquaintance, a mediator, or an authority such as a manager, notary, or arbitrator, who brings the two parties together.
Reception matters
Collection is a stricter technique: when the collecting planet receives both parties (that is, brings them to consent), the bond is complete. Without reception it may still mediate, but the bond remains weak or difficult.
Sample question: My business partner and I cannot sit at the same table. Can an adviser trusted by both of us reconcile us?
