Domicile (a planet in its own sign)
A significator in a sign it rules is like a king in his own fortress: decisive, capable, and not to be moved from its place.
Domicile: +5, the strongest
A significator in a sign it rules holds the strongest essential dignity: +5 in Lilly's scoring. This is like a man who is lord of his own house, his own goods, and his own fortune; few of this world's blessings are wanting to him.
In its own house
Lilly gives examples: Saturn in Capricorn and Jupiter in Sagittarius are in their own houses. When a significator is in its own sign, its power and its resources are under its own control; in horary the thing asked about comes forward on solid ground.
The condition
This strength rests on a single condition: the significator must not be spoiled by backward motion (retrogradation), burning (combustion), or another afflicting aspect.
Sample question: If I take this job, will it last? If the planet representing the job or the employer is in its own sign, the position is solid and a sign of something long-lasting.
