Mercury — Communication, Documents, Trade, and Intelligence
Mercury is like a chameleon. Lilly says that it is neither masculine nor feminine in itself, but takes on the nature of the planet with which it is joined: good with the good and ill with the ill.
Mercury
Communication, documents, commerce, and intelligence. It is prominent in questions about examinations, contracts, purchases, and news; it is the planet of the mind and the pen.
Whom or what it represents
Correspondence, contracts, telephones, news, and couriers; sellers, merchants, accountants, teachers, journalists, programmers, and advisers. At its worst, it also signifies someone who does not keep their word: evasive, a liar, or a fraudster. Its metal is quicksilver.
In good or poor condition
Well placed, Mercury is of a subtle and politic wit, an excellent disputant, persuasive in speech, and a searcher into hidden matters. Poorly placed, it is a troublesome wit, a great liar and a boaster.
