Mars is the planet of courage and sharpness. At its core, it is the decisive and forceful energy that enables survival.

Conflict, courage, sharpness, and danger. Masculine and nocturnal; hot and dry; traditionally called the lesser Infortune (a difficult, harmful planet), the author of quarrels and strife. If it makes a hard aspect in a question, it brings fighting, surgery, competition, anger, or the risk of accident into focus.
Whom or what it represents
Surgeons, firefighters, soldiers and police officers, athletes, welders, and engineers; any work involving cutting tools, fire, or physical force. Anything that calls for courage, competition, or bold initiative belongs to Mars. Its metal is iron.
In good or poor condition
Well placed, Mars is brave, determined, confident, and combative. Poorly placed, it is a prattler, quarrelsome, aggressive, angry, and inclined to violence.
