The Sun — Authority, Honor, and Rank
The Sun is the highest authority and honor in a chart; in a question it often points to the person at the very top.
The Sun
Masculine and diurnal (a day planet); when well placed, it is equivalent to a Fortune (a fortunate, helpful planet). When it is prominent in a question, the matter is usually promotion, recognition, the decision of a person in authority, or vitality and health.
Whom or what it represents
Employers, senior executives, the state, official authorities, the chief decision-maker at the top, and father figures; people who deal with valuable things and with status. For example, in a question such as "What will my employer say?", the employer is most often represented by the Sun. Its metal is gold.
In good or poor condition
Well placed, the Sun is loyal, prudent, impressive in bearing, attached to its honor, friendly, and humane. Poorly placed, it is arrogant, proud, restless, and extravagant. The same authority may appear either noble or domineering.
Sample question: Will my employer approve my promotion?
